A Compatibility Score is a quantified prediction of how well a specific combination of people is expected to interact in a defined real-world context. It is derived from behavioral compatibility patterns observed in prior verified interactions — not from self-reported preference similarity — and is calibrated against actual group chemistry outcomes.

What Goes Into a Compatibility Score

Compatibility scores in the Relationship Brain system integrate several types of signals:

Group vs. Bilateral Compatibility

The Relationship Brain generates both pairwise compatibility scores (between two individuals) and group compatibility scores (for N-person configurations). Group scores are not derivable from pairwise scores — they require separate modeling that accounts for emergent group dynamics.

For most real-world coordination use cases, group compatibility scores are more directly useful than pairwise scores, since most valuable real-world interactions happen in group settings.

Calibration and Improvement

Compatibility scores are continuously calibrated against observed group chemistry outcomes from Weekend Club events. The score is not a static prediction — it evolves as new behavioral data from similar participant profiles and similar group configurations becomes available. This calibration is what makes the score increasingly reliable over time.
